Spoilers (not that anyone cares anymore): So again, explain how the Metro Exodus system is somehow less fleshed out? I feel like you haven't actually played Metro Exodus, and I am saying that as a huge S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Not to mention that getting shot in Metro Exodus makes a hole in your gas mask, which can be patched in combat (or you suffocate), but a full repair also requires a bench and resources. In CS and CoP, you give a few rubles to a mechanic and your weapon is fixed completely. You can even see your weapon getting dirty/shiny depending on your cleaning. Saying that the rudimentary system for gear maintenance in CS and CoP is better than that of Metro Exodus is bizzare, since in Metro Exodus going through puddles and dirt makes your weapon dirty, as well as the normal wear on the weapon by using it, and you have to clean it regularly on a bench by using resources (which are limited), thus leading to partial repairs. Gear manintanence better in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.? How so, since there was no weapon repair in SoC. At least so far, Metro Exodus has been very different. I unironically think that the game is underrated on the Codex solely because Metro 2033/Last Light were linear popamole shooters with no exploration. I have played only the Volga area so far, it feels a lot like Zaton. The lack of settlements, side quests and character interaction is such a wasted opportunity. has-no interaction with characters, side quests so rudimentary it feels wrong calling them that, no trading. Of course, it lacks most of the strenghts that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Metro Exodus is far better than 2033/Last Light and for the first time has began to feel like a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. The Eastern European post-communist atmosphere is so bleak and cool. Playing the game at the hardest difficulty (or at least on hardcore) is challenging and feels like playing a fleshed-out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Since ammunition and resources is scarce, you cannot waste much fighting mutants. The different mutant types actually have different behavior, fighting style and weaknesses. Mutants are attracted by gunfire and noise, the smaller ones attack only in packs. Importantly, mutant behavior is also far more fleshed out than S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Observing the enemies, calculating how many you are facing and planning accordingly whether to attack openly or through stealth is great. The stealth in Metro Exodus is far more complex and actually works. had rudimentary stealth that worked horrendously. At night, mutants are more active and humans are more vulnerable.Ī lot of people seem to forget that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Having to use materials to keep your weapon in good shape is nice.

Despite what some people have said, the exploration is rewarding because of the upgrades and the materials. It plays a lot like S.T.A.L.K.E.R., or at least the way Stalker was initially planned-large areas, avoidable mutants, few human enemies. I have been playing a lot of Metro Exodus the last few days.
